Hello,
I recently got back from a weekend of rough riding for the first time on my 96 black & purple beast and when washing it off I noticed the front right engine stud nut was missing. I was hoping you guys could tell me if the nuts I/D is
8mmx1.0 thread pitch
The bike is 50 miles north at a friends house near the trails.
I'd like to have this figured out before I bring a ziploc bag full of different sizes.
Also would you recommend putting 316ss lockwasher on when replacing it? or use a heat resistant loctite/permatex product?

You need to take a new gasket and a nut with you when you go to your friends place to fix your bike.

I recommend that you remove the head and fit a new gasket and tension down to 20 ft lb diagonally in icrements of 10 ft lbs, then 15 ft lbs and finally at 20 ft lbs.

Re tension head bolts after riding 1/2 a tank of fuel.

Thank you for the advice.. heading up north to the bike today to check out the situation more in depth. It showed no signs of leaks and held high compression. But a leak down test is something I'm going to end up doing soon to check for any gasket damage.
Can't friggin wait to get the bike local so its not a weekend trip to go mess with it..
I found a chart that listed hardware for the bike. I think the nut size is
8mmx1.25
which was the question I was originally asking in this thread.
