Engine not running right???

So what are baffles? They are in the head pipe? I put a new plug in already and still no differece.

Ok some good news. I got it cut and found a piece of a previous exaust pipe in thier. Also, there were no baffles. But I got the piece out and welded it back and put it on, big difference but still not going right. I'm going to put a brand new spark plug in it. It had an ngkr in it. I have a spare from my cr250 that I could use. It is an ngkr br8eg. Can/should I use it?

As long as the threads are the same length, go for it.

know they are the same length and all, but what is the diffference between eg and es? And as long as the eg won't burn a hole in my freshly broken in top end and will work fine then I will go for it.

I put a new spark plug in it, and still not right. But I didn't clean the carb out and one of my jets was clogged, and the choke was stuck in the on possision. In a little while I'm gunna go riding and see if that was the problem.

Ok now I really need help. I have tried everything. New spark plug, cleaned and reset everything in the carb, I got that thing out of the exaust, and I cleaned out the air filter really good. It is better and goes normally in low rpms but not mid or high rpms. I'm about ready to let the exaust pipe hang half off like it was before when it ran fine. I don't get it :/

i think i might know whats wrong with it mine did the same thing!

when i cleaned my carb i did not remove the jet nozzle come to findout i had crap blocking 4 of the 8 holes in the nozzle.no mid and high revs just boged out ran like crap.
(even backfired a few times in mid)
try cleaning the nozzle
take your main jet out,now where the main jet screws into the carb is the main jet nozzle, set your carb on your work bench with it upside down (float side up in the air)(throttle slide flat on a towel) and take a drill bit to drive the nozzle out of the carb from the float side.(pick a big enough bit to not messup the jet threads in the nozzle)
once you get it out you will see 8 tiny holes in it make sure they are clean spray breakleen through it till all 8 holes spray good.
spray the ports out to
my 98 had this same symptom and it had junk in the main nozzle it fixed it

did you clean and check this when you cleaned your carb?

No I didn't check that when I cleaned the carb. So I just unscrew the main jeT nozzel, the big gold one in the middle? And clean that. I will try that when I get back, I'm gunna be away for another 3 days.

you take the main jet out then you drive the nozzle through to the throttle slide of the carb.(where you screw your throttle cable on at)

when putting it back in you have to line up the pin sticking out of the nozzle,it lines up inside the carb body where you drove it out.

this will fix your problem im sure of it

just to clarify thats the "pilot jet" you are talking about and it unscrews out the bottom just like the main jet does. also i would use carb cleaner to clean the carb lol :)

pilot jet is beside the main jet has a tube on it

im talking about the main jet nozzle, your main jet screws into it it supplys mid and high on the carb!

your pilot supplys idle on the carb

trust me this is what is wrong with his carb he did not drive the nozzle out when cleaning the carb.alot of people dont know to drive the main jet nozzle out of the carb when cleaning it.
they just take the main jet out and dont remove the nozzle, the main jet screws into the main jet nozzle has 8 real tiny holes in it when you drive it out from the bowl side.

ok well why not use like a bread tie or something cause im damn sure not going no where near my main jet or anything that it has to do with it in my carb with a drill

your just driving it out of the carb not drilling it

i have taken some pictures give me a minute to upload them and i will show you.

i have never uploaded pictures im going to do it right now
