Okay.......I know this has been gone over many times, but in my search I haven't found a definitive answer.......

So, everyone says that Blaster engines are notoriously noisy. Since I haven't had the chance to be around another Blaster yet, is the noisy crankcase when running normal. It's not a hammering or ticking noise, just like mechanical (maybe gear mesh) noise kind of like a playing card in the spokes of a bicycle? If that makes sense......... Anyhow, if I can this weekend, I will shoot a video and post it. Thanks! :-/

So...tell me.....what is it that makes all this noise? My last 2 stroke was a CR250 and it didn't have any of that crankcase noise..............

Well, you have 3 more gears running all the yime at crank speed. 2 for countershaft plus the shaft and bearings, one for oil pump. When was last time you checked or changed the trans oil?

I guess that makes sense! These are some noisy little effers! I changed the crankcase oil when I bought it. Used the Yamalube.

Check the balancer drive gear, they are two piece and can loosen up over time and rattle... ( mine did, peaned the pins on the carrier to tighten it up & it wasn't as noisy ) REMOVE GEAR FROM ENGINE TO DO THIS!!! lol
