I have my engine tore all apart, and need to put a new top end in it.

crank seems ok. no play up and down... minor heat marks, but I hear that is normal (on crank)...

Anyway, I took my jug to the machine shop. they checked it and said its 2.260 right now. go one maybe two sizes up on the piston, and bring it in when you get it and we will match the jug to that for 47 dollars. COOL.

Ok, but what piston do I get. I dont see measurments like that when I am looking to buy them.

Some help would be appreciated. I am not sure what the stock bore is and if this jug is stock or not.

i would stop by there and retrieve my cylinder from them, if they can't even measure that correctly, and tell you what size piston to buy, chances are they're not gonna get the clearence correct either
i've been down this road with local machine shops and it was a waste of money
take it or ship it to someone who knows what their doing and save $'s in the end

wtf...i just noticed this is in canada, and they're not using metric measurements ????? sumthins fishy there

Awk, mudking is in Texas....

I have the good fortune of having a local machine shop who can follow implicit instructions. They've bored three cylinders now for me and have got within my measuring capacity (.0005") of proper cylinder to piston clearance. If you don't have ANYONE local you can trust to measure and bore a cylinder to exacting specifications, you may need to contact someone who works with blaster cylinder's regularly about getting your cylinder bored.

Casper- good catch. I didn't even think about transposing the numbers....

lol... yes I am in texas... pretty opposite of canada.

the machine shop is one of the best in south texas. One of the desk guys (nice guy but not the smartest) took it back to the mechanic who probably told him 2.620... he then brought it up to me and after BSing for a minute wrote this on there... I know I didnt screw it up! :) But I am sure the not so smart desk worker did.

This shop built a few motors for me and my freinds (350's) and they perform and run very well. I will wont take my stuff anywhere else. stuff happens. I will probably buy my own micromiter or whatever its called this week and just measure it myself though.

Thanks for the input I will post what I get up in a day or two...
