Yes, if you were to delete the yellow/ red wire and follow everything else that is a stripped down harness setup for kill switch only (black/ white & black). You can also remove the lighing coil from the stator if you wish to do so.

This diagram is for an 88-02 harness. An 03-06 is just slightly different.

I did that an man instill have 0 fire. My stater is reading 248 ohms . But I can't find the year for my bike to order new cdi or coil! It's been painted a million times it looks like !

You don't need an exact year.
All 88-02 blasters have a 4 wire stator and are electrically identical.
03-06 blasters have a 5 wire stator.

All parts from those model years fit each other.....88 fits 02, 03 fits up to 06

Be careful with aftermarket stators, there's a few known to be junk right out of the box.
Best to buy good used stators, and a 5 wire can be made to work on a pre 03 blaster, but not the other way around.

So I got a coil and still nothing.. all I can think of is that it is grounded out somewhere. I'm going to tear it all back apart and see if my grounds aren't connected correctly . The stator is reading 230ohms so it should Be firing in theory!!!
