Ok, don't beat me. New to this forum and quad riding. I have a 2001 Yamaha Blaster YFS 200. Now the guy I got it from had it stored for awhile and he said that he took off the oil pump and the tank. Now here is the question. He told me he is running straight fuel, not mix. Everything I read said it either needs mix (32:1) or have the pump on it.

So how is my quad still running and not burning up the piston.

Also, what oil do I use since everything that is in the manual is different than what I have.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

i dont why your motor isint ruined yet but just just start mixing it from now on if it isint fuel injected

A good 2 cycle oil for Air cooled machines, not synthetic not regular motor oil. Drain the fuel out of your tank. get yourself a two gallon gas can. 8 ounces of oil mixed with two gallons of gas gets you 32:1. Don't run your machine till you have the right mix in it or it will definately blow.

there must be oil in the tank under the seat, stock blasters are oil injected, straight gas in the tank and oil in the tank under the seat.

If the tank is not there and you have been running straight gas and it has not seized, you are one hell of a lucky guy.
I know that 2 strokes will run for a short period without oil, due to the build up of residual oil in the crank case. Get some oil in the fuel now.

A good premix period is amsoil dominator but if you cant get your hands on some of that. Yamalube 2cycle oil is a good one to use as well. Start mixing at 4 oz for every gallon of gas and you'll be fine. Provided that your oil injection system is disconected for premixing. You can tell right away by looking at the kickstarter and looking to the right 4 inches away and seeing if the hose is cut leading to the crankcase That and your oil tank oppisite of the exhaust is not there. Good luck and enjoy your new loveable pet lol

There are no stupid questions, only stupid people who ask questions :D

^ not making fun just a saying i think is funny.

I'm not adding to what everyone else said b/c they covered most everything.
