Does throttle response improve when the TORS unit is removed?

Ordered a tors removal kit (cap, tap, screw), to remove that honking TORS unit. Hasnt arrived yet, but makes me wonder if it will improve the throttle response at all?

I don't think it would, since the throttle cable is what opens up the carb slide. I don't think the TORS has anything to do with throttle response, but I could be wrong!

really shouldn't have any affect on it minus the very slight difference in the amount of moving parts, but i doubt you'll notice anything

There may be possibilities that it's not working totally correct and screwing with the spark. That could make it feel sluggish .

Should experience absolutly no gain in throttle response, but removing the brick that sits on the carby you may experience a few less hassles.

i personally would rather have that tors unit than spend 30 dollors... instead get another carb. your halfway to a 30mm oko carb and some people sell our stock carbs on ebay for over 40 dollors!

Like everyone else is saying, there won't be a noticible difference, but not having that huge brick on the carburetor is a big benefit when servicing the carb in the future. It is possible to rotate the stock carb to change jets without removing it once the TORS box is gone from the top.

The blaster is for the GF and she is a novice at this point, so no need to go up in carb size. If not for throttle response, there has to be some advantage in being able to have an idle screw, and im sure a fresh motion pro cable wont hurt either.

/tries to justify the money spent

Wouldn't I need the non-tors throttle cable anyways if I went up in carb size?

Yea I'd recommend saving the money for a new carb as well. I picked up an oko carb on ebay, bought the throttle cable, jets for it, etc and still ended up making some money on top of paying for all that when I sold my stock carb on ebay.

How much did you sell it for?
