Title says it all... I am a noob to Blasters

I have seen the perfomance robbing effects ethanol has on 4strokes, but what effect if any does it have on 2 strokes?

thanks for your input!

it likes to eat rubber. and e85 is known for make less power than gas, but you can run higher compression with E85 that will make up for the less power than gas. along with advance the time.
i think you can make more power with E85 than 91 octane because you have raise compression and bump timing more with e85 than 91. i want to say the octane rating for e85 has a AKI of 100.
pure ethonal has a AKI of 122.
ethonal has less BTU than gas.

i read on here before it likes to absorb water, and that being bad for the internals of the carb and the motor, i avoid it at all costs

^^^^ that is true, reason you have to purge the system with race gas after using ethonal. like after a day at the strip, you should run the engine with race gas for a little to get the ethonal out before you head home and park your quad.

15% is not enough to cause damage to any fuel system, but it does still effect everything to some degree.
dyno test the same engine on 10% and 15% and the higher the E% the less power the engine will make. I would like to say that the higher E% will allow you to run higher compression without detonation because alcohol has a higher flash point...however that is not true either. With the E15 the additives and free radicals in the fuel they will neutralize any affects of the alcohol so they perform much like the 10% blends. After all the reason behind the higher E15 is $$$ cars will use more fuel, pay the same price and the govn makes money because oil companies would rather sell oil not corn. By diluting it the governments make more money.

One thing over looked is the pre-mix ratios. but running only a 5% differenece wont make a noticable difference. Use a good synthetic, and providing your jetting is correct you wont have any issues.

Running e85 or higher will require a major re-jetting and compression increase, and as said you need to flush it with gasoline when your done riding. it is corrosive and will eat aluminum and rubber

To clarify my post, I mean pump Gas which supposedly can have up to 10% ethanol.
I have used "startron" in my 4 strokes... its supposed to help..
