I'm looking to buy a Toomey Silencer and was wondering if it will bolt right up to the stock header.
I am eventually am going to get the toomey header as well but don't have the money for it at the moment and don't want to have to re-jet the carb right off.

I am a newbie for sure and any help would be greatly appreciated.
(i'm sure this may have been covered before but I could not find a thread that had the answer to my question)

Thanks in advance!

yep, should slide right on and bolt up to the frame.

as far as i know, there are only 3 silencers that only bolt to their respective header pipes....
FMF SST
Dyno-Port
LRD adjustable

yes it will bolt onto the stock header you will still have to re-jet no matter what and its very important to leak test after any mods you implant.

Thank you.
As far as Re-jetting any suggestions as to where to start?
It has a k&n fair filter with outer wear air box lid is on.
I recently bought it a few months ago (it's a 2001) and was told
A previous owner bored it out to a 250 but have not confirmed.
I did clean the carb and put a carb kit in it but it was just stock jets I believe (230)
Obviously will have to fine tune it but any suggestions on where to start would be
Greatly appreciated.
I have done a few plug chops and the plug had a dark
Grayish color too it. It seems to run ok to me doesn't hesitate seems
To have good power.

Thanks again!

Throw away that carb kit jets and needles.

Order genuine mikuni jets.

#260 #250 i think would be good for you, depending on elevation.

Never believe someone that says its a 250cc (they are morons)

Leak test

Compression test

If you want to measure bore, thats more work. You would have to take the head off and measure it, then do all the proper procedures to get it running again.
But its nice knowing

Definitely not the DP, possibly some LRD's, they seemed to have used both a stock style and straight thru designs depending on how old it is.
