acme pa
any tips for making my skid plates . i got em all cut out with cardboard, and traced onto the sign. wats the best aand cheapest way to put these on . and if i would just rivet them on would it hurt it any just drilling halfway into the fframe. i have a grinder with a cutting blade and a saw zaw which is gonna give the best cut

never ever comprimise your frame, on purpose at least :p there are a couple ways to do it, a lot use conduit hangers found at hardware stores. others weld nuts to the bottom of the frame and then bolt it on, and some use u bolts, all in how u wanna do it.

The cutting depends on the grade of steel, reletively light an appropriately bladed jigsaw works good, whe u get heavier cutting torched freshend up by a grinder woks the best

conduit hangers that are meant to hold conduit the same size as your bike frame are generally very very weak and not made to hold up during off road bashing. its just not what theyre made for. period. i wouldnt put a piece of hardware on my bike that i can bend with my hands.

we have lotsa of them at work and they are heavy duty and ive used them on 3 of our other blastys for skids and they havent had 1 issue....they are many many types of them out there

I like the Idea of wleding on the nuts to the frame and using a short pan head screw to attach it . bit of loc-tite red and by morning its NEVER coming out , just get your drain hole in the right spot.

^^ yea thats not a good idea bro...conduit hangers are the way to go......and try to use carrage bolts with the round head, they dont get hung up on rocks as bad as a square head bolt

You want to use electrical "rigid conduit 1 hole clips". The rigid ones are alot stronger than emt ones and will hold up great.Just need to drill a few holes in the skids and drop a few nuts, bolts, lockwashers etc to mount it up.Just remember to try and get a pan head or similar type bolt so there is not alot of bolt pertruding thorugh the bottom of the skid plate and get caught up on things.
