I think its called the TORS unit or some sh*t? I looked around site, but only saw something for 03-06. Anyways, can i just throw that junk away and put a throttle cable directly from carb to throttle like everyother normal unit ever made?

You should use a TORS removal kit.
You will need a new carb cap, a throttle cable, idle screw, and a drill and tap to modify the carby.

just get the tors delete kit, you'll still need a different throttle cable for a different carb, and jets for rejetting it and easily be over the price of the tors kit
be sure to get one thats complete.....

Right, but due to an injury where i blew my thumb off with a firework, and cannot now properly use it without pain, i need to switch over to a twist throttle. So i need to be sure the cable will work for that application.

You can usually get a twist throttle assembly (no cable) for $ 15-20.00 with a little looking. As far as a cable is concerned, you can usually specify thumb or twist throttle when ordering your TORS eliminator kit.
