Crank pin needle bearing....is this a weak point?

Hi all.
I finally found out what caused the my entire engine seizure.

It was indeed the needle bearings down at the crank .. I have looked at the forum at saw several cases where they fail! .. Are they are weak point? Do they become a weak point when tuning? Should be commonly be changed??????

How is VITO´s stroker crank needle bearing .. ? (i just ordered a crank, should i be carefull???? Or do they last at least a few years?)

they last a long time... with a good airfilter and filter maint. good oil and no airleaks. also..if you roach a top end, and send little chunks of piston into the bearing... they dont like that.

I agree with phragle.
I'd like to add that they are also the bearing that most peeps sleep on replacing, mostly cause ya can't do it yourself. I had one give up on me but it was 28 years old when it did 8-|
A good bet is to check for play (up and down especially) in it every re-build.
