I am rebuilding the bottom end of my blaster with a vitos +3 and I have some questions. I got the bearings in with no problems at all they are all balls. I have looked for videos of how to install the crank and could not find anything telling me how to install it the proper way.

1. How do I know when I have pulled the crank into the case far enough. I have the tusk crank puller and some fealer guages is this all i need?

2. I think I am missing the little ball bearing that goes inbetween the rods in the clutch were can I get one? I also need the arm that the clutch cable hooks up to.

i believe ken oconnor has them clutch actuator ball bearings in stock
possibly a used clutch arm too ???
and would be more than willing to answer your crank question while you have him on the phone ordering the ball bearing

you can get his number in my sig below, and a link to the website

Ya I called ken first and got no answer. I actualy purchased these cases from him and had him inspect my other bad motor which he will be building for me. I think ken is an awesome guy he was able to hook me up with a good set of cases and all new bolts and washers for this motor and he usualy answers his phone no matter what day I call him. I got into the online manual and found my answer for the crank install. You pull it in untill it stops against the bearing. I have the clutch arm and little bearing at kens shop so I will have him ship it to me come monday morning.

I will post pics of said install when I find the cable to my camera.

I just finished my first bottom end rebuild I hope all goes well with it. I followed along with kens videos just like he suggested to me. I did have to watch a few from rocky mountain becouse it seems that ken has not finished his rebuild videos:-/. I just have to install all of the external stuff on the right side and also do the timing mod and install the flywheel.B)

I need to know what you builders are useing for seal grease. I spoke to ken this morning briefly and he is shipping out the parts I needed for the clutch free of charge. I asked him about installing the seals and I cant remember the brand of grease he uses I only remember that you cant use wheel bearing grease. anyone know what I need and where I can get it?
