cp custom 265cc kit

i've heard about those 265 kits. make great power, not reliable.....idk what kind of riding you do, but you can make great power out of that little blaster with a way more reliable setup like a 3mm stroker and ported 240 BB kit. i've seen as much as 50hp or more. depending on what you do in terms of riding.

it may be a back up bike, but even a back up bike needs to be reliable. all of your bikes should be reliable. they arent fun if they cant stay together. then when you get sick of fixing sh*t, then its hard to get rid of, cuz the next guy doesnt want your problems...

heat is a big issue with those 265 kits...they heat up quick, and if i remember correctly the sleeves are thin and are prone to cracking....save your cash, build a reliable, powerful setup. they do exist and are possible with a budget with any bike. why do you think the 265 kits arent popular? why do you think the 240 kits are way popular? ever heard "only the strong survive"? such is the case. unreliable, expensive, not worth the hassle.

to each his own...but the peanut gallery seems to be unanimous......

this is why you run a shee rod I:I

very true but as stated there are other problems..plus who is going to put the time and money into a blaster to have a setup like this?..i highlt doubt the original thread creator wants to...lol...i may be wrong though.

If I where to do a 6mm stroker+ the 265 big bore it would be a drag blaster other wise mine I would pick for an mx quad would be a 240 +3 stroker.............im tossing around the idea about doing this or buying an 05 cr250 tommrow

if you do a 3mm or 4mmm stroker with a good port setup you will be more then satisfied with the blaster..ur looking at 50 usable HP!!!

im doing a +3 with a ct racing 240 cylinder kit just need to figure out the pipe.
i had a +3 with stock cylinder and kennedy port job and a vitos pipe and 35 airstryker
that made 36hp.and it ripped just wanted to have more bottom and mid

This here is a old thread but I will revive it. I ran a 240 with a 6 mil strokeri belive that made it. Like a 285 cc the only motor built bigger was a 265 sleeve with a 6 mil=305cc. This set up was for drag use only. You have to trench the cases paper thin to accept the crank. I never had a issue witht he crank and I made 62+hp with the setup. I loved it. I would not suggest this setup unless your a serious dragger cause with any full on drag motor is a ticking time bomb. Mine was. I was running to much timing among other things but a blaster isn't designed for that much power and I ripped the cylinder studs out of the cases, not just came out but took the aluminum threads with it. Then cracked my cylinder

And peps are right anything over 50hp will eat clutches, I had a lockout. You will alsoneed a overide to shift all that power.
