hey guys i recently put a new clutch get in my 97. I did everything the way that i seen from a video on here. But when i go to ride it, it wont move while its in gear. But when i lift up the rear end on a jack, the tires will spin as they normally would when i give it gas. Mind you that it ran and drove perfectly before i changed my clutch. What could be going wrong?!?!?!

the clutch is probably slipping. Did you soak the new clutch plates before installing them?

Did you adjust the clutch properly (push the lever forward and screw in that long screw until the arrows line up)? Did you miss putting in any friction plates or steel plates? Is the nut that holds the clutch basket torqued properly and did you bend the washer over to keep it from spinning off? Are the clutch screws and springs torqued down and not stripped? Is the cable adjusted properly? Those are the things I would check.

i did soak the plates. i lined all the dot on the plate up correctly. i put all the screws and springs in correctly as well. the only thing i dont know how to do is how to adjust it. because i cant find the lines on the case

The only line you will need to align the clutch arm to, is right next to the arm. If you are on the clutch side of the machine (RH side sitting on it) and you look thru to the clutch arm, then look at the case, you will see the line or mark or whatever it is. Basically, if the line isn't there, the point of the plate on the clutch arm should be damn near perpendicular to the "imaginary" centerline of the blaster, pointing toward the clutch side of the engine. There is a great video by jlsparky on youtube, he has the engine out and on a bench top...watch that.
