hi, i recently got an 2008 chinese 250cc crap quad, but anyway this guy offered me a 1985 tri moto 125 2-stroke..does anybody know anything about the tri motos, or give me opinions on tradee

thanks :)

how do you think the power would be for trail riding and such and does anyone know how "tipsy" these little 3 wheelers are?

Do it!! Trikes are a blast as long as you aren't afraid to go ripping. Even the small 2-strokes will surprise you with their power. Unless it is all ragged-out or damaged, Id get the tri-moto. You will be glad to have gotten away from a Chinese piece of engineering. (All this comes from a guy with lots of experience working on Chinese equipment).

A trike is more tipsy than a 4-wheeler (obviously), but they are a lot easier to handle than people think. My old Honda ATC 110 was plenty fun, even though it had maybe 5 or 6 hp stock. I never wrecked due to tipping or falling over, even tho it can happen.

thanks guys lol, i like the sound of having one of these things, plus i am sick of buying all the little stupid things for this chinese piece of crap haha..does anyone know what kind of transmissions they have? also like if the tri motos were "prone" to anything at all

I think they were six-speed, but dont quote me on that. As for inherent problems? Do a compression check, look it over real good, be sure the air filter has been doing its job, and you'll be good to go as long as these areas check out. Just about all the problems with a 2- stroke can be traced back to lack of lube, dirt/sand ingestion, and/or overheating.

Check the basics and as long as it has been maintained, I dont forsee any troubles. Then again, Im speaking generically since Ive never owned a tri moto. Somebody else who has more experience than I with them please feel free to chime in.
