hey guys i need a new chain roller on the bottom, i want one that will last.

as the last one i installed last all of 2 days.......

so wht would u recommend that lasts and isnt too over priced

If a new roller is only lasting a few days, I would be looking for a problem with the sprocket and chain and the adjustment therof.

too tight of chain adjustment will indeed ruin that lower roller quickly.
as will the "clear colored" 'el cheapo's only last a short while.

was this a roller bearing replacement or stock style ?

here's what i run, if you keep an eye on them, you can get replacement bearings for them at ace hardware for a few bucks, usually the bearings will go, then the roller itself gets chewed up.
you must cut the stock tube off the frame to run these............

my chain may have been alittle tight, idk i rode hard those days, umm stock style was wht i had laying around

how exactly do u mount tht chain roller? i was looking at some similar ones

cut the tube off the frame that the stock style slides onto, file/grind it flat and smooth.
this style bolts on from the inside, the threads of the bolt will thread into the stock nut welded onto the outside of the frame mount, then put the nylock nut supplied on the showing threads to lock it in place, do not overtighten the bolt or the roller will lock up, just tight enuf so the roller still spins freely

would cutting/grinding old one off, welding the bolt in the same place as the old one mounted?? then slip it on there and put the nut on.

don't reinvent the wheel, cut the tube off, bolt the new one in it's place

it has a tab sticking off the frame, with a nut welded to it and a tube for the stock roller to slide on, then a bolt w/ washer goes thru .
go have a look and you'll see.
cut the tube off the inside, the new bolt with that roller above, replaces the tube, the nut stays on the tab when the tube is cut off

I cut my own rollers from a teflon chopping board.

I use a 2" hole saw to cut them out, and just pop 2 of them on the shaft.
