Hi i am wondering the chain on a blaster think its stock sprockets etc. i am wondering if the chain is ment to be a tight fit betweein the teeth or are they loose? just mine is loose like its not the right thickness. also if its not the right one can it coz any damage as its been like that since i bought it at the beginning of the year. also i am thinking it might have been why my the clutch tab slot thing on my casing got broken but maybe not.

worn chains are the main cause of case damage, especially where you described at the clutch spring notch.
chains will get very worn and loose...side to side and stretched in length
i suggest a new chain and sprocket set, as worn sprockets will wear a new chain prematurely, they should be done as a set

these are a good deal for stockish powered blasters...........

Yamaha Blaster 1988 2006 Chain and Sprocket Set New | eBay

Yamaha YFS200 200 Blaster Blue Chain Sprocket | eBay

they are also available in "more speed" or "more power" sprocket sets,
i do not recommend them for "built" blasters
(i've snapped 2 of them, regular and o-ring)

thanks Awk :) was going to get a new chain and sprocket kit anyway just was wondering as i do think that's why my clutch tab got broken. the guy i bought quad from either had a scare on it or he was damn right stupid on how to maintain it but i swapped him a motocross bike that needed a top end anyway :p

As Awk said, its time to replace your chain. You can lengthen the life of your new chain by cleaning and lubricating it after every ride, and keeping it dry while in storage.

yeah man! i should of really replaced it when i bought it as it was rusty. as i said above the guy i bought it from looked like a crack head lol but lucky enough the quad wasn't stolen as i done a check on it :D found a website that you put vin in. doens't matter whether or not its off road :) but frame and engine numbers were fine no grinding marks lol

14/40 = more top speed and a loss in low end grunt/quickness
13/40 = more quickness but less top speed

13/40 for woods/trails
14/40 for open feild/open sand/dirt roads riding

IMO
