I have another set of cases which have been repaired and are awaiting a new owner. Back to 100% operational status, already lapped.

I can sweat new crank bearings in and install new crank seals before it leaves for an extra $40.

$100 shipped for the cases.

I'll add pictures if anyone is interested in seeing them before they buy.

I have a set of cases that got some holes and cracks in them. I had a friend of my dad's who is a very experienced welder weld up everything. What would the trade in cost be?

Heck, if he's an experienced welder why would you need to trade in? Repaired cases work well as long as the repair is done to 100%

Quadsrus, I'll post up some pics tomorrow. I don't know what there is to see, it's a set of cases in operational status LOL

I was just thinking that it might save me the time of grinding down the welds. But I am setting up a jig tomorrow for the case, so good luck selling!

A jig? Post pics of the work in the "case repair" thread. I have to warn you, if there are large "bubbles" of weld piled up inside, there is a VERY good possibility you're going to run into heavy porosity as you get down to the stock material. Generally, production welders (welders at "shops" don't work with cast aluminum and it gives them a LOT of trouble. I've been doing nearly ALL cast aluminum AC tig welding and I've got pretty decent at it....

I will post some pictures of it tomorrow. I see what you are saying about the bubbling, hopefully there will not be any. When I smooth it down I should be able to see it if it is there.

How thick is the buildup? When I finish with a repair, there is generally less than 1/8" of material above the original material to grind down. Sometimes when I refinish a case there's STILL bubbles under the finished layer.

Cast aluminum isn't really easy stuff to work with....

Depends on condition and what you want for them. I have three set of cases in the garage, two are repaired back to 100% and ready to go, the other has been welded but not ground back down and lapped yet...

I don't NEED to buy any broken cases but I could pick them up if the price is right.

ive got one ste that shattered a pistion skurt and broke at the blancer on both sides and another that idk if its fixable its broke at the shift shaft
