So I got two blasters. One runs and is all stock except for oil injection removed. The other is siezed up in the bottom end it has a fmf pipe and removed air box lid and discontinued oil injection. So i was going to put the pipe on the one that runs. So i figured i would just put the pipe on the runing one and remove the air box lid and just use the main jet out of the blown up one(keeping an eye on the plug to make sure it wasnt lean). But when i took apart the carb from the blown up one there was a stock 230 main jet in there. The guy I bought it from said they bought the fmf and couldnt get it to run right so he had someone jet it. From just looking around on here it looks like that main jet would be to lean for no air box lid and fmf.
? # 1 Is it possible that it was jetted properly with the stock 230 or is someone just a retard. Mabey that is why it is blown up. The top end looked good though except a peice of a main bearing come up and got eaten.
So I abandoned that idea untill i get a jet kit.
So I had both carbs off and had only cleaned the one off the blown up one. I decided since the jets were the same i would just put the cleaned one on my running blaster to save some time so i could ride(i was in need of a fix)
. I get the carb on and it acts weird. First off it was a little harder to crank. Second it would hesitate from an idle. But then when it got to mid to high rpm it would scold the dog like it was way leaned out (like twice as fast). So i take off that carb and go back to the other with identical jets and its back to normal. WTF
? # 2 Is there any other things in the carb that could make it run lean. I dont think there was an airleak because the rpm were not hanging. Mabey float leval or something. Anyone have any ideas.
I wish it would run like that normally. It had like 2 times the power.I:I
Thanks
