i bought a blaster with a 240 bb kit, wiesco piston, vito performance reeds, 32 mm mikuni carb, uni airfilter, dg exhaust. i am new to the two stroke world dont really have much knowledge of carbs except what ive been reading. any way this bike i bought runs best with the reserve gas flow, choke all the way out and will not idle...seems like it has no power taking off. (my friend has a blaster and i cant keep up with him and he doesnt have many mods.) also it seems when i go wide open it is the same as half throttle in 4 5 and 6 gears. is this because of bad jetting. if so how do i know what jets i need to correct this since it is not a stock carb. also i want to do away with the uni and put in a box under the seat so i can ride muddy terrain.i have the stock air filter setup bu it doesnt fit on the carb. i also have the stock carb , would it be better to put this back on and jet it since i dont have a better exhaust.

NEVER send it to the stealership!!

If you're new to 2 strokes and you have the stock carb maybe put that puppy back on until you can get a pipe to go with. Not sure how to make the 32mm carb work with the stock setup, so I'm recommending the stock carb just because it's the easiest way to go.

You'll still have to jet the carb though to make it run properly. You need a clean arifilter to start with though. Get a regular uni that goes into the stock airbox.

this will still work with the 240 bb? the stock carb that is. and what would be the jet sizes i would need

are you sure its a real 240 kit? you engine looks stock from what i can see in the pic. does it say 195cc on the bottom of your cylinder?

the vitos 240 kits have them stamped on it too....take a close up pic of the motor...most likely, its bored .040 over, and its not a 240 kit

really? why the hell is that there? i though vitos poured thier own castings which is why some people get naaaasty flaws in them.. :-/ :-/

it is slightly diffrent than stock mold...mabe thats how they get away with it, but they just put a bigger sleeve in and pour around it....u saw those casting flaws in my cylinder...what a joke lol

huh, well aint that some sh*t.... lo. yeah man i saw your cylinder, that was awefull.

The fact that it runs best on reserve leads me to believe you may have a fuel delivery problem. Try taking the petcock out of the tank and cleaning it. You're going to see two tubes, a long one and a short one. The long line is the one for the on position. It may be clogged. Probably just a small part of your problem but it may help. Sound like it's very lean.

i also have to run it with the choke out. i was thinkin that the 32 mm carb might be to big since i dont have a good pipe on it. it just has a dg exhaust

if it only runs with the choke out then the blaster is running really lean and you need to richen it up...
but for us to get an idea for you to start you need to take a pic of the plug and tell us what main jet is in the carb and THEN we can make some more accurate decisions

stay with the biger carb if its a big bore the stock carb will only frustrate you till you put the bigger carb back on. and i agree with OConnor Racing pet weiner sounds plugged , i would clean the carb put a new plug in and do a plug chop and see where your at as for as jetting goes
