Ok I need to know what size carb I would need for the following engine setup. 74 yz 250 ported and polished cylinder, reworked head for high compression at least 14:1 I hope, 2 mm overbore, ported piston, fmf fatty mid pipe for an 84 yz 250, and cfm airbox. I plan to have flotek do all the machine work. So lets hear the suggestions the quad is going to run on race fuel. There will be some trail riding but mostly dunes and the local river.

a big one thats for sure, google and see what a yz250 originaly came with, most likely its around the 39mm range
Wonder why you're putting that much into that old of an engine? Unless you're strictly 300' drag I wouldn't touch the piston, especially if it's cast.

all newer YZ250s come with PWK38mm carbs, so i would use that at least as the starting point. maybe even a PWK41
The piston I got is forged. I wouldn't have bothered with a cast piston. I am doing it because I want it to be fast the motor was already on the quad when I got it. I don't know what its been through so I figured might as well just do it. The piston choices where pretty limited on ebay at the time I got mine or I would have went with a smaller bore.
