cant get fuel thru carb cleaned out 3 time

i have taken off the tors i have spark but cant get fuel i take out the plug and it doesnt smell like gas realy not wet it is a brand new rebuil topand lower end there is no timing on stock motors is there i am at a loss it sputtered once and smoke came out the air filter like a back fire maybe its not even trying to start from what i can tell any suggestions also is there a way to get out the main jet its a 2000 blaster

i baught the carb off ebay soaked it in gas for a day could it be the reeds

.there is timing on stock motors.ur timing is set bet the stator.to get the main jet out you take the bowl off the carb and it the little hexagon brass fitting.stock is 230

well took a shot in the dark pulled the reed cage and on reed was missing and the other 3 where open a1/4 of a inch could this be why its not starting:-[

for the timing though it with a key right so as long as i put it togather correct it should be fine

yea a broken reed can keep it from starting

is the fuel switch open ?
