Re: sms arms

By "those lower ball joints" do you mean I could use the once that come with your arms and I'd have to buy the Fraps for the tops? I'm not worried about brake lines and tie rods, I understand what I'd have to do on them.

From the looks of the pictures, all of the "ball joints" included are actually tie rod ends which will not fit the stock taper on a blaster or banshee.

If both the upper and lower ball joint mounts are threaded, you can *basically* run whatever sport quad spindles you want....

The 300ex and 400ex spindles are basically the same angle and spacing as a banshee, you'd just need the RS3003 ball joints in honda taper.

Re: sms arms

SCD, what is the current cost of 4 ball joints? I haven't looked anything up and knowing you buy them often, it's just easier to ask you. I'm thinking you posted once that your costfor ball joints are like $120.

Re: sms arms

Straight from Ricky Stator they're $20 a pop plus shipping. I actually buy mine from StellarMachine and they're $25 apiece including the weld in bung. When I'm done, it's nearly $120 you can get them for $100 from RS (include $15-$20 S&H guys, don't forget).

Surf, link fail in your first post :p http://www.rickystator.com/catalog/yamaha-c-21_26.html

ASR uses heim joints and special spindle adapters. They are $37 a piece.

ATV Ball Joints & Tie Rod Ends

Also listed on that page are the RS3003 joints at $27 a piece.

Re: sms arms

If you're using banshee spindles or honda spindles, you'll need 4 of the RS3003 ball joints. They'll work really well if the upper a-arms "mounts" are threaded, you'll need to do a little bit of work if they're not threaded (the RS3003 comes with one "blocking" nut, you'll need two if the arm isn't threaded)

If you want blaster spindles, you'll need two RS3003 ball joints and two Frap 2914 joints.

Re: sms arms

Ok, I'm starting to understand what I would need to use them. Being able to buy ball joints and using the 250R/400ex stuff that I already have would be great. The Burnard site list sizes from +1/+1 to +4/1+, is there any way to determine which size these are?
