Well i got my white bike running it would get past 1/4 throttle and die. So i just decieded to put around on it and maybe it just needed cleaned out. I cracked it opend and it made a loud misfire and wouldnt start, i later discovered that the reeds are broken. So i put the set from my orange bike in which were good and had drove all weekend in it. So i got it started and warmed it up and drove it around i got all excited ran really good then i cracked it open again and popped the clutch it popped and died so i checked the reeds it made an identical break and as the otherone and was the same pedal. I also have broke 2 other reeds in the past and i kept the broken pedals and they had all cracked in the exact same position.

I had just put a new set of rings in it and it has way more compression now could this cause it? Also the reeds arent new do they get old and rot away from the gas.

what brand of reeds ???????????
and if they were old, higher compression could cause them to fail, when low compression didnt ????

i've seen way too many of them dual stage reeds break, i wouldnt run them on a weedeater
stock reeds/cage or vf3's for me

yep, them are dual stage, i could see by looking, but read down that description, it tells ya
i just repaired a set with a home depot "store credit" card, about 5 miles out,
2 weeks ago
junk in my book

yep, one solid petal, split down the middle for each side, no dual petals for each side
whats breaking on yours, the smaller one, or both ????

Both one little pedal will disapear and then a crack will appear in the big one on the same exact spot almost a identical crack/break.

take them out and set them on fire, they are pure garbage, as is the description in that link you sent......."the lower petal is ported for such and such"
thats bullshit, only the reedcage can be ported, not the petal

get stock or single stage carbon fiber's, or ultimately vf3's !!!!!!!

lol i wish i would of knew one pedal would of worked when i cut my credit card spares they were a sob to cut dual stage ones. Also ive messed with i think 4 or 5 diff reed cages that all had dual stage reeds on it that wierd thought all reeds were like that except for the vforce ones. My vf2 were the one pedal design thanks for the help.

Better yet,

Ported VF3's!!

definately wierd man.. i have used dual stage reeds the last few times i have replaced them and have only had one crack a little bit and that was a old used set i got a while ago. i havent broke one yet with this new motor (havent rode it much yet though, just busco) so i dont think high hp breaks them. i do want to give VF3's a shot, as much as it pains me i just dont think dual stages in a RAD valve can keep up with the huuuuge amount of air/fuel this beast of a motor wants

I used the good side on the reeds out of the 2 cages and made 1 good set of reeds and after riding 20 or so minutes the reeds blew again. I mean i can understand week reeds but thats like the 5th set now and im out lol. Can there be something else causing it?

are they sitting perfectly flat against the reedcage ???
if not pressure from the cylinder is pushing them open and breaking them
and are you using the factory reed stops on a stock cage
i've had them break before from not having the reedstop in place, as was the case on my buddies a few weeks ago

No i never run a reed stop. Havent since i bought my blaster. and they have a hair of a crack but i have ran reeds like that before also that work fine for years

must run reed stop,
must run reed stop,
must run reed stop,
must run reed stop,
must run reed stop,
must run reed stop,
must run reed stop,

Without a reed stop the petals could flap around like silk undies on the line in a strong wind. No wonder they are breaking.
