Brake help!

So I have a '99 blaster with drums, mechanical disk rear brakes. I bought Burgard a-arms with a front hydro setup. My question is, what do I do to get rid of the parking brake? Since I will be taking the front brake off I don't know what to do with it? Do I just cut the cable in front of the rear brake or what? I know they make "e-brake block off kits" but those appear to be for hydro rear brakes. Here is a pic of the parking brake cable going to the rear brake pedal.

Any help would be great.

you need a "shorty rear cable" it only goes from the pedal to the caliper

Thanks! Thats what I needed to know. But do you know if just cutting it would work too? Because I can't see spending that much for a cable, I could probably get a hydro rear brake for around $100. Unless I can find a cheaper place to get the cable... what do you think?

i dont think you can just cut it. some shops shorten ables for like 10 bucks. well a local shop near me does anyways. but lets see pics of your burgards

Ill get pictures this weekend. Hopefully I can get them put on too. They are at my house, and I'm at school 3 hours away. Any tips for putting them on?

You just spent $$$ for arms and $$ for brakes and can't justify $30 for a cable? :-/ Cut the cable a little long figure where you need for length and weld a nut there. I:I

tips... you need a hammer to bend the a arm mounting tabs out. the blaster arm tabs are too skinny so you need to either grind off a little of the dust cap on the burgards or take a hammer and bend the mounting tabs out a little. using a hammer to bend the tabs is way less time consuming. but be careful cause if you bend the tabs too far, they might get brittle. are they for stock shocks? or long travel? if they are for stock shocks, the stock ones might be too soft with the a arms. i am 210lbs and mine just sunk when i sat on it. had almost no travel. so i put some raptor 350 shocks on. way better imo. and you will be happy with the way it handles with the burgards. trust me

Yeah I dont have any $ left after that haha. But no, $30 just seems somewhat high when I think I could buy a rear hydro setup for $100. I may just leave the whole cable going to the handlebars too, my plan is that if I ever sell the blaster I will convert everything back to stock and sell the other parts separate. Ill evaluate my options once I get the arms and front brakes swapped.

Thanks for the tips, hopefully installation goes fairly smooth. It will by my first time really messing with this kind of stuff especially with bleeding the brakes and all. I will probably keep the stock shocks on it until I find a good deal on works or elkas.
