ok I need some help. I know everything on blaster motors but carbs. I have a new big bore kit with new topend and a 34mm carb from vitos (stock jets from what ever vitos puts in it for there bbk) and toomy b1. I did my heat cycle brake in and did my 1/4 throttle and 1/2 throttle brake in. today I went out and did 3/4 to small wot. starts in 1-2 kicks cold.

after riding around I noticed that when I am stopped and ready to take off in 1st gear I give it just a little bit of gas and it seems like im getting a bog to the point if I kept the throttle at that point of bog it prob would stall, than as I keep giving it gas to start going in first the rps will go back up and ill go. after I noticed that a few time I went home and shut it off and pulled the plug and it was like a rust looking color (I had a new plug in it that day). also my toomy is kinda turning orange color where it just comes out of the engine.

I put a new plug in after that and I couldn't get the ATV to start till i gave it full throttle than it bogged and started up again but did want to idle vary well. but later that day when it was cold again it would start 1-2 kicks and run fine till at full operating temp than same problem as stated with taking off in 1st gear. other than that this bike rips. I played with the air screw a little but no luck. Any Ideas would be great. thanks.

i rebuilt my top end today and had the same problem. to fix it i turned up the idle pretty high and set the air screw to 2.5 turns out and then started it and turned the idle screw to get it at a good idle, let it warm up, and it ran fine. otherwise maybe try a bigger jet? im not great on carbs either but i hope this helps ya

sounds like a pilot jet problem to me, you'll need to find the airscrew setting where it idles the highest, that'll tell you whether to go up or down, under 1 turn out, go bigger on the pilot, over 2 turns out, go smaller
where is the clip set on the needle ????
was it leaktested ???? airtight ???
did you retorque the head and base bolts after the heat cycles

no i didnt do a leak test because I dont have a tester. also didnt recheak the tork on the bolts, ill do that today. I have the airscrew in half from almost seated but didnt really fix anything. I do see my exhaust has some burn oil leaking out from the bottom of it where it hooks to the motor. is there suppost to be a seal for the toomy from exhaust to motor? ill take carb apart today and do a cleaning and see what jets are in it.

Where can I get a leak tester?

I retorque all the nets and my main jet is a 165 and poilt jet is a 55. I put in a 175 main in today seem to help on topend. needle clip in the middle. I moved the clip down one and lost some power so I moved it back. still having bog at just touching the throttle. I even palyed with airscrew, nothing. plug is still light gray rust color. what size poilts should I get? Thanks. :-/

Also could there be a adjustment thats out of spec for the floatbowl? if so how do I do it? Thanks

that is a big ass jet man, mabey u have a airleak someplace?

I agree with all the above...big main...airleak....pilot issue... Assuming u have no airleak, you are rich on the pilot. U can test lean by pulling the choke and see if that makes it better or worse. Test rich by removing your filter lid and see if it makes it better or just change pilot 1 up and 1 down and see what helps

I am going to go and make a tester today. That 165 Main is what came with it from vitos for the bbk. I had a 175 laying around so I put it in. once I get leak down tester made I am sure to find something but I hope not.
