I am having a problem with my bike I was in top gear and wound it out but at top speed it bogs at full throttle I dont have a problem otherwise but at top speed it wants to bog at full throttle I have never noticed it before today and realy the only recent changes I have made were a new uni filter and removed the airbox lid this realy ticks me off cause my brother beat me on his warrior cause I lost power at top speed does anyone know what could be wrong could it be getting to much air without the box lid also the exhaust is getting real hot the connecting grommit between the headpipe and silencer was smokeing to lean perhaps? thanks for any help

if you didn't rejet after taking the lid off and putting a good filter on its lean

did you try putting the lid back on to see if it was better?

clean the carb, make sure that all the jets, sprecifically the main jet, cause it is likely your problem, clean your airfilter, and if that dont work do an airleak test, which you likely should anyways

did you rejet it if not thats a problem do a compresion test if it got hot like said above should be at 120 if all that checks out clean your carb sounds like a main jet since its wot new plug all that normal blasty trouble shooting

yea the carb has been jetted and Its got good compression but no I didnt take the box lid with me where I was riding so I didnt try to put it back on but I havent done a leak down test I was curious what you all thought also the carb is super clean I just cleaned it like a week ago I am a carb master if I do say so myself I was taught by gary bolbey son of earl bolbey the most winningest hill climber of all time (just taking a minute to brag that I am good friends with them lol) anyway I will try a leakdown test thanks again guys

yeah main and clip position. plug chops ftw. go through the intake and double check everything then check it again. if you cant find anything wrong compression test/ differential compression test.

what about your reeds?
does it not bog at lower rpm?
does it just like sputter? like are you going along and it just dies a little?

Ok "carb master", did you add a larger main when you took off that airbox lid? Being jetted before such a large change doesn't count....

no need to be snippy the carb came off my secound bike which had already had the box lid removed so I figured it should be fine also sheeblast it just bogs at absolute top speed runs like a top any other time just at top speed full throttle 2nd 3rd and 4th gears at full throttle and it runs fine

I had this same problem and i was told that there is part on case the sucks in air i plug it and the problem has stop ill show you a pic of it tomorrow
