Ok guys, as most of you know by now, after ive started all these threads, ive been rebuilding my blaster. i have a friend who hads a friend who runs a small engine shop/and does four wheelers. so we took my motor over, tore it down, replaced the crank bearings, all oil seals, then rebuilt the top end.

i put it back in the bike, and today i finally hooked everything up (carb, gas, spark plug, key turned, and switch on) and tried to start it....no go, after about 10-15 kicks.

any idea whats wrong? i accidenatly left the choke pulled all the way out while i ran inside to get something, could it have been flooded?

help please?!

check for spark, something could be backwards in the wiring, and try a new plug. after a rebuild there can be oil and crap in the cylinder that can make it hard to start the first time around

you got spark? did you hook the stator up right? clean the carb. did you flip the carb upside down when took it off could be cloged spray it with some starting fluid

the carb was gone through and cleaned, and im prettry sure the stator is put in right cuz this guy did it (engine guy) i gonna try to ge it started to day when i get home from college

you only need three basic things for an engine to atleast kick over and try to ignite........spark, fuel, compression. check all those systems first and let us know which your missing.

compression is good, spark and fuel im still not sure. how can i check those? the fuel line is connected to the carb, and the fuel swith turned to on.

on the second kick when i first tried yesterday, it started for like a second then died. then i couldnt get it to turn over agian.

that was the first thing i did even before tearing into the motor (cleaning the carb) i guess i could try the jump start. if i do that, will i be causing any harm?

first of all,CHECK YOUR SPARK PLUG! if its black and wet your too rich may need to change jetting, if its dry and like brown its aight, if its kinda white its lean, if the spark plug is aight try chaging it for a new one, if this doesnt work check your reeds, if they are all right check the electric sh*t

its not called jump starting. jump starting is when you jump 2 batteries together to get power to the starter. balsters have no batteries. it's called push starting or dropping the clutch.
the spark plug is your most likely culprit. 2strokes are finicky about that sh*t. either way, you need to check it's condition. you might need to make some minor carb adjustments to get her to idle good. you said your compression is good, how much psi is she cranking? and how competent is your guy? is it possible that he didn't bore/hone the cylinder to the right exact spec?

When I flood mine I like to take the plug out then flip it on its seat and handle bars with all 4 wheels in the air. Then put it in first and spin the wheels by hand, and stop when the fuel stops spraying out (normally only a couple seconds). Flip it back over, put a new plug in, try again.
