So I was up yesterday at 8:30AM and decided I'd ride for about an hour, I did so, and everything was fine. I usually let it warm up 5-10-15 minutes before riding and once it warms up the idle seems to die down a bit and it will sound rough (like it is close to stalling). Also some days seem better than others as far as smoking, but I hadn't noticed any performance issues.
I had decided I'd throw a new plug in and opted to pull the gas tank prior to doing so....I got pretty much everything spotless (tank, plastic shroud(s), rubber flaps, frame, etc.) using SPRAY NINE and prior to putting the tank back on I got the brilliant idea to shake the tank, big mistake? It fired right up on the first kick after having sat for 4-5 hours, but immediately dies out if I don't keep the throttle open some or feather it.....plus the smoke seems more excessive. Confused.
When I rode in the morning all I had to do was pull the choke, kick it once, and I could walk away....now it will fire up but I can't even take one step away from it because it dies right out.
Has anyone ever experienced this?

I figured with the premix I had been topping off with after every ride, and 65-75% of the premix having been in for about a week-week and a half, that shaking the tank while off the quad wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
I know I didn't ride with it low on oil, without proper premix (32:1, only use one mix at a time....if I switch premix I run it all out prior to switching), without a clean filter, or any other basic rules of thumb. Does this sound like something maybe with the carb? Like shaking the tank was a big mistake and I dislodged some dirt or gunk and it isn't getting fuel unless I hit the throttle? It isn't the tank because I pulled the line and my light blue premix came flying out the hose....it isn't any easier to kick over (compression - plus ran fine in the morning).....it must be getting spark because it starts on first kick every time.
