Blaster Problems - need help??

Then you haven't raced because it's the same. I have also seen it before. And still didn't answer his question. Why is idling so high after it warms up. You said if it runs after he pulls the cap it's not lean...what's the cause?

I'm not a pro but could it be that it does have a bad air leak that's makeing run so lean that it's getting the top of the piston to hot making ack like a deasel motor?

Which doesn't answer his original question. Which is Why is it idling so high after it warms up. Go ahead and say it "air Leak"

he just needs to clean and inspect his head. it could be so carboned up that carbon is causing the ignition. this happens a lot on old 2 stroke outboards that are putted around with a too rich of a ratio. most are putted around which is why a factory would normally recommend a 50:1 ratio. a lot less oil for a leaner condition to prevent carbon build up.

ok now that the rant is over. after you pull the head and inspect for debris you still need to do a leak down test. a leak down test makes sure there are no leaks in the head gasket, base gasket, reedcage gasket, intake to reed cage seal, crankshaft oilseals, and crankcase halves having a proper seal. I would guess that your leak is one of the outside gaskets or the flywhell side crankshaft oil seal. the reason it is revin out of control is probably a bit of both of the things that were being argued about earlier. thats my nickle.

put on new head gasket, and the problem remained.. dug in a lil deeper and what do i find? missing nut on base cylinder , and blown gasket.. so mystery has been solved....

yea it sure would have been.. nice to know from the get go... o well how it goes sometimes..
