Blaster Idle Problems

It has the injector system, I've read a lot about people removing them. I did notice a brownish clear tube up by the top of the engine above the choke that has been clipped, and isn't connected to anything. It's only about 2 1/2 inches long, running vertical.

the carb should have 2 of the "vents" they are brownish, one on each side, and should point downwards, and yes they are just "open air"
originally they ran to little holders under the bowl screws, that held them in place

So they aren't connected to anything? That seems odd..

they are vents, and allow free air pressure in to prevent vapor lock, they do not allow air into the fuel metering/carb throat that effect fuel/air mix

The one I see doesn't connect to anything. It's open on both ends, running vertical. Only a few inches long. That's correct? Sorry about all the questions, I'm new to this, and want to make sure I make the right decisions and proper repairs to my blaster. I really appreciate all the help.

no, thats not correct, there should be no "ghost" tubing anywhere
it has to have a purpose, pics would help
what is holding it in place ????

and no apologies needed, we luv this chit !!!!

I just froze my ass off to get these pics, so hopefully they help.

yeah, thats the vent line i described above, but it's broke off, they get very brittle
i'll try to find a pic to show where it goes, look in the cleaning links i posted, surely one of them show that line

any 1/4" vent line hose will work, and it should be replaced and reconnected to the vent inlet up near the choke knob

yep, from the first carb cleaning link i posted............

If I could keep adding rep everytime u repost, I would. Thanks a lot man. Im going to sleep now, gotta get up for church tomorrow. I'll get some carb cleaner and tear her down tomorrow at some point. I'll message you and let you know how it all goes. I'll have to get the 1/4 tube monday when the shops open back up. I HAVE to ride it home in the morning, and I'm gonna park it until I get this figured out. Once again, thanks for all the help man. I really appreicate it. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

no long full throttle runs till you check that main jet, or you'll be asking for piston/rebuild advice

oh, and just noticed...another PA. bro !!!!!

I wont go full throttle, but the ride to my house is about 30-40 minutes, and i have no other option.

just googled leechburgh, you're only like an hour from me, and real close to member "slickerthanyou" !!!!

awesome, maybe once everything's up and running properly, we'll get together for a ride... i dont know many places around here... where's slickerthanyou from

i'm in johnstown, down rt. 22, and slick lives near kennywood.
and we'll definately hook up for a ride soon !

Thanks for all the help man. i gotta get to sleep. I'll message you at some point tomorrow and let you know how the cleaning goes. I'll check the main jet, and get back to you on that too. If the jet isn't stock (which i dont think it is because it's been ran over 2 years the way it is now with no problems) I'll clean everything, put it all back together, and take it for a test run afterwards. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for all the help bro.

Please post your results here as we are interested in the outcome.

PM Slickerthanyou and get a fantastic deal on a leak down tester, I have a notion you may need one.

There's a lot of things I want to do to this blaster real soon, so I imagine we'll be come friends LOL You guys seem to know what you're talking about, and I'm in need of good mentors. Thanks again for the help.
