Alright, i want to set my quad up for mx, i know the suspension im going with, but im interested in swapping the motor, I seen on here about the yz400,yz456,yz250,cr500, ect, i want something that has good aftermarket part offerings, makes Alot of power to whoop up on them shee and 450 owners. I got a mig, tig, plasma cutter so fabing mounts isnt gonna be hard. I just want something reliable makes the power that i want to hit triples and pull on strait aways, and something i can get good parts for. i had a 660r and that was pretty nuts. What year make and model engine? and how easy is it to get a hold of?Let me know the pros and cons of the motors.

like 1k on ebay.....

you would be better off finding a full bike on CL... then part out the frame

ALright so the yz has way more aftermarket out there, and would be almost prefect for mx riding, i mean i only weight bout 150-160. so it should be a trip to ride. Does ANY ONE know how to work the DIAL-A-JET's? i bought my quad with it, if your half throttle then flog it it'll bog out, Can i just eliminate the dial-a-jet?my quad is .40over,powercore2 silencer, and that flap door on the top of the air box and that damn jet.If i eliminate it does that dial-a-crap have jets that came with it or are they my factory jets? and woul di need to go bigger?

I would never use a dial a jet , there was a guy that had one on his zrt 600 and something screwed up and he blew the engine.
im not to sure how you would take it out?
i belive to install you have to drill a hole so you would have to patch that up somehow.

Yea i was thinking that! cr or kx 500. that'd be one bad ass quad as light as they are, just get a longer swinger, longer a-arms and wider axel. it'd be definitly a hellofa ride
