Hi guys I just got a blaster a few days ago and today I ran it for a couple minutes and then started running only reverse. How did this happened?
And the second question is:
What is the best carb upgrade option for a stock engine.

TORS system is still on. Going to remove it soon.
Should I replace the finger throttle for a twist one?
What do you guys think about this carb
Yamaha Blaster 200 - 35mm TMX Carburetor w/ Extender - Yamaha Blaster 200

Thanks in advance

Its a timing issue..I bought a basket case Blaster once ,did the samething,6speeds of reverse.. Mine was caused by the stator I was given with the Blaster wasnt the right one and placed the timing way off..

The flywheel woodruff key is possibly the culprit for reverse running.

The stock 26mm carb is fine for a stock motor although so claim some gain can be had from a 28mm.

Twist versus thumb is for you to decide, try it, you may like it.

Many will knock a twister, personally I choose to use one, I does take a lot of learning the wrist positioning (low wrist angle) but when mastered is the bees knees.

if it was going in forward then changed to going in reverse it is def the woodruff key. don't run it like this. if the kicker gear accidentally engages while it is running it will grenade the motor. just pull the stator cover. you will need a flywheel pulller if the flywheel is still stuck on the crank shaft still. you can order a new key from rockymountainatv.com or cheapcycleparts.com. you can get them in a hardware store but they are standard sized and you will have to file one down to fit properly
