the hubs make sure you have the cotter pins out and take a look at the threads if there all dented over you will have to be carful if there all there and in good shape use a penetrating oil alot of people like pb blaster i prefer type f tranny fluid anyway let some type of penetrater sit on the nuts for a while you work on somthing else take a socket cant remember size and im guessing you cant hold the axle use a pipe wrench to hold the axle so you can take the nuts off they should be much more then hand tight tho if you have to use an impact to get them off put more penetrating oil on the studs are not very strong

i just had half the stud strip out when i took my nut off on the end of the axle and with some other little things a slight bend i just bought a new one

also putting the tires back on the axle helps you hold it to get the nuts off btw

if the hubs are stuck on after you get the nuts off best way ive heard of was to knock out three of the studs and use a harmonic balancer puller to take it off

ok so i finally got the front fenders off. i had to cut two of the screws to get them off. i dont have the money to have the frame sandblasted so i started grinding/sanding the paint off with a grinder, dremel and sandpaper. i spent about 2 hours on it today and im about 60% done. i got all the small areas done and some of the big areas. hopefully it'll be done and ready for paint by thursday. if i grinded all the paint off do i still need to ruffen up the bare metal still? heres a link to pics. the first 15 are of the frame oh and i cut off some of the mounts for the oil injection and other mounts i dont need. i also smoothed some welds out. theres also a pic of the pipe which i used a wire wheel on a dremel to try to get some rust off in a small area and it worked ok i just didnt get a chance to finish it

finally made some progress on the quad this weekend. I have all the parts stripped down and most of the primed. i dont have the swingarm, carrier or the front wheels primed yet. I still have to buy another set of a arms since i broke one of the ball joints taking them apart. hopefully ill have those tomorrow so i can get them primed. Then i just have to decide on a paint scheme.

Well I haven't updated this for awhile so I thought I would. I have all the parts painted almost. Just have to paint tie rods, carrier and wheels and hubs. I started reassembly today. I have the a arms and spindle put together and should have them on the frame by the end of the day. I also have the stem bars and controls installed and I also got the foot pegs put on. Hers pics of it with the stem and a pic of the a arms and spindles. When I get the a arms on it ill get a pic so it shows the foot pegs, bars and a arms all on the frame.

What color plastics do you guys think I should go with? Right now I have blue but I think they would look stupid on there and they're not in very good shape. I was thinking either black or white plastics. I didntreally want to paint a set of plastics then have to worry about scratching them. So I need to decide if I should keep it just two colors green and white with the white plastics or bring in a 3rd color and do green and white with black plastics? What's your opinions

i put the blue on today just to see how they look and they just dont go with it at all. i think im gonna go with black but im gonna wait until more of its put together before i decide if im definatly going with black. i put the swingarm, axle, carrier, rear shock, tires and wheels on today and tie rods. the carrier and axle arent painted yet but im trying to get it into a roller so ican convince my dad to let me buy a pitbike. he said it had to be put back together before i got one but he hasnt taken me to get the cylinder measured and bored and honed yet so i figured if i have most of it together besides the motor maybe he'll let me get a pit bike.
