Blaster #3, project

I didnt think to, since I could not cut the outside. I knew the amount would be next to none, that I removed.

I can tell you. My foremost thoughts, is that this is certainly not a true piece !

I can tell that this fylwheel is out of round, more than I would care to see.

If thats the type of stock quality they shoved onto these blaster motors. I am surprised there was not more failures due to vibration.

Its not surprising to be honest , Have you looked at a stock blaster head on the motor from the top ? , It looks like it Does not belong

tinkered a bit more today.

got most of the wiring done, when you dont have a ign and head light and tail light and oil; and injection. Not allot to wire up.

I need to do some more painting, but added on a few pieces. I need to make a lower front fender support.

Im not gonna pay a arm and a leg for a used one. and I figured some 3/8 hollow tubing, smashed and drilled for the holes, would work and bend to the shape of a stock one.

Ill paint the fenders and front piece with kyrlon fushion black. ad I will get some more green vinyl to do some tripes or something 4 for the front and blending.

You can also start to see how quickly the black starts to blend and take away all that green color. by the time I add on the rear fenders and ect, other black parts, it will start to even out.

Good ole green and black color scheme! I like it! And yes it is cheaper to make that bracket if ya have the skills- than to buy one. I'd personally make it out of flat bar as these are known to be brittle! That crushed tubing seems to make the perfect stress point.

Just a update, No pics.

Got the rear brake on and all connected. Dropped off the new piston at the machine shop, should have the top end later this week.

The rear fender and a few parts are in the mail and on there way.

Got my fender today, woohoo. used in and white and needed a paint job.

I use krylon plastic fushion. it works well on plastic.

I will let dry and do 3 more coats and then likely a good hard clear coat covering.

So 2 cans will do the black covering.

Ya I did some sanding 0n the fender. but kyrlon fushion, is a paint, that is okay to not sand or primer first with.

I still need to do the front fenders and front piece, but im out of paint for now. get some more and maybe this weekend.

They need more work, due to no plastic paint used on them. meaning, ill have to really sand them to get the prior paint work done on them. or the paint will just peel off or scratch off easily.

So, im not looking forward to that job. cuz ugh, lots of sanding sometimes, sucks.

While taking pictures in the dark, is not the best time to take them.

Here is some photos.

I will need to gather up a few more items to complete the build. the cylinder should be done tommarow from the machine shop. So this weekend. I will install the rest of the motor.

But I will need to get some used parts and new air filter. air filter basket, lid to the air filter box and some misc parts.

And likely down the road, rear brake light, front head light and ign cover and ign / key.

Still need to paint the front fenders and front piece. perhaps this weekend. I also will likely order some more neon green vinyl to put decals on the fenders, ect.

I think also, over the winter, I will look as some black nerfs with heal guards.

Unless the weather holds on a bit longer. Aside from some getting the motor complete this weekend and a few small things. the rest may have to wait till spring. It's all going to depend, on how quickly the weater turns here in Illinois.

The next set of pictures will be with the motor end sometime this weekend.

Thank you.

Once in the day light, the green will not stand out like that. night photos. Tend to make the colors stand out more and pop.

Well working in the dark again, it's cool here, mid 40's. I just got to much to do yet.

I ran into some issues, the rear boot, is about 1/4 inch to short for the carb for some reason. I tried adjusting ect. tried with the boot (has the rubber mount to the frame) I tried with and without and it did not help. I checked to see if I had any overall rear fender adjustment. And its right on. So I will have to try again tommarow. Or figure something else out.

Im really close, just a few smallthings to check over and add.

But its almost ready to try and start.

The rubber from the stock air box?? Did someone cut it?

I like the green/black

Oh, and I think it would look better if the shock springs were black!

It does not look cut or anything. it still has the raised lip on the very end. its just a tad short.

I was also working in the dark, I dont have a garage. So daylight tommarow wll be better 4 me. and the coldness. Is making the rubber pretty stiff to work with too.

And to answer to your previous, reply.

I did not do anything with the ports. I did that on the white blaster. But this one, Im leaving pretty much stock.

If I was gonna do it, Id have done it before I had it bored and ect.

I have another cylinder here, I did a trail port on it, it needs bored yet, it will be my back up. but not likely gonna worry about that 4 awhile.

Im just running into cooler weather here and hoping to get this one finised up and going this weekend.

This was my budget blaster !

I aLreadY have a 240 jet in it, for cooler weather. but if i drop into the 30's I need to go to a 250 JET.

I can't wait till tomorrow afternoon to tune mine in!

Polishing the exhaust port, can be done on a stock jug.
