Ok so i split my cases put everything back together & she runs fine!!! But!! lol i have no clutch. now i do remenber puttining the little clutch/bearing ball first then the two rods... which i now know the rod goes first then the ball then the last rod. ????? is how do i get that ball out & where could it have gone lol any help would be greatly app thanx!!!

Check out the link in my signature. I did a clutch removal vid

Thanx but had nothing to do with what im asking.. I need to know how to remove that bearing ball. I put that ball first down the hole then the two rods, which the long rod goes first then the ball & last the adjusting rod with nut. i just have no idea where it went i had the whole blaster on its side taping the cases with a rubber mallet & no ball droping. I wonder if it went somewhere in the casesX( i cant beleave i made such a stupid mistake honestly!!!

It may be trapped behind the bearing. Try removing the clutch lever and looking inside with a flashlight. If you have a small magnet or turn the thing upsidown u should be able to get it. If its not behind there or in the oil your engine could possibly have eatn it for lunch. Did they oil have metal flakes in it?

That ball is such a pesky little thing. They'll hit the floor and fly all over the place and you'll never see them again.

The order is (if you are looking from the clutch side) long straight rod, ball in the middle, and then shorter rod with the threads on it. If you put it in in any other order, remove it and reinstall.

You can force the rod and ball out if they're able to come out by removing the clutch paddle arm and hitting the hole it comes out of with compressed air. That forces pressurized air through the center of the input shaft. If they're in there and not completely jammed, they'll pop out then!

If you have lost the ball (but have both the rods in good shape) no worries! You DO have to replace the ball but you do NOT have to spend big bucks or wait a long time to do it. You can go to a local hardware store and ask about hardened ball bearings. 3/16" ball bearing is what you need (not the .177" BB out of a BB gun but a true chrome coated hardened ball bearing) to go between those shafts.

Thanks alot that really helped me.. I was worried that the ball could possably damage internals.. Good stuff rep given. i willl let you guys know how it turns out!

No metal flakes in it. Thanks for your input also!!

The ball could potentially hurt something if it gets jammed between gears but I believe, even if you installed it first and it fell down inside the "paddle area" that it cannot leave that area and damage gears.

Surf really had a good suggestion if you did install it first, use a magnet to try and remove it. If you simply lost the ball out the side (and BOY can they roll a long ways when they hit the ground) then a replacement from Ace Hardware will fix you right up.

yeah pull the shift shaft and use a magnet to see if it is down there. if you just lost it you can use a bb to fix the problem. my buddy did it and it works great

Skinny collapseable magnet wand there like 75c at any hardware store or any where else. There about as wide as the inside of a pen the ink tube. bump if this helps
