i was looking at a big bore kit for my 200 the pepole sleeve the cylinder but dont port and polish the intake and exhaust should i do that before or after the new sleeve
I agree with brando. By the time you spend the money getting a sleeved big bore set up you can be well on your way to a real big bore jug and head which is much much better performing, and you have alot more room to grow.
Right now I'm running a Vito's 240 Big Bore and when I blew a piston and rings the sleeve needed honed and deglazed and the mechanic said that I had plenty of bore room to go. And you can buy the BB head and jug from Vito's instead of just the sleeve. The sleeve's just the cheaper option.
You can't beat the LA Sleeve cylinder kit if you can get one. They should be back in stock soon. The Vito's sleeve has the three exhaust ports and the LA Sleeve is a single. I'll call LA Sleeve today and see if they have them or when they expect to get them in.
Just in case you didn't catch the difference, wtfc, brando is talking about a complete new cylinder vs. resleeving a stock cyl. The new bigbore cylinder from LA Sleeve is far superior to resleeving a stocker.
245stroker i know there isn't much difference in just the sleeve's from vito's and la sleeve's. i was just leading the dude to a site that might perk some intrest in some of their complete top ends and vitos stuff has been failing for some people lately.
