big bore kit

Sorry but wrong, tell dad to give ken o connor a call.

Yup, my Blaster is pretty quick with no BBK. I walk all over 400ex with my ported stock jug and modified head. Get Ken O Connor to port your top end, and it will run better than you thought possible. Plus you CAN run a ported stock top end with a stock carb. If you go BBK, you almost have to replace the carb as well.

As a side note, that BBK you are looking at is just a sleeve kit, which would require pressing into your stock jug. Do-able? Sure. Reliable? Doubtful. It will run hot and I don't think you'd be happy going that route.

The 75mm 265 kit is a pressed sleeve on stock stroke. The blaster engine is already oversquare (66mm bore but 57mm stroke) which tends to lend itself to higher rpm engines anyway. There really isn't much to be gained to by going MORE oversquare other than a higher rpm range and less bottom end. While it would certainly pickup quite a bit of power, it may not be "usable" power for your application.

If your father is of the mindset that porting is going to hinder you, there really isn't much to be done (no matter WHO you call).

he is going to port the exaust port but he said that people that he works with have told him its better to port the exaust so that the air and fuel mix better or sompthing like that ill tell him to give ken a call im gonna call him anyway to order some spindles

Blaster engines are exhaust limited.... but at some point all of the exhaust port in the world won't put out any more power as the rest of the engine is limiting it, not just the exhaust port...

That kit says "stage 2 porting", you should find out what that means before you spend that kind of cash. And the price is for them installing the sleeve in your cylinder, which you have to send to them. They also have a listing to supply the cylinder for about $200 more. I think KOR list Cylinder Porting at $150, Head Mod at $60 and Boring at $55 prices and a Wiseco topend kit can be bought for $125 or less (including gaskets and bearing). That's about $400, provided you have a good exhaust, you'll be way ahead of anyone running that BBK.

I think this kit may have potential.. Just like the Trinity Racing 265cc kit it starts on it first bore with a 75mm piston and all that gives you is 252cc. But the Trinity Racing kit can go to a 77mm piston on its last bore, and that will give you 265cc, and the sleeve is so big you have to have your cases bored for it to fit.. I DON'T SEE anything in the ebay ad about having to have your cases bored for there kit to fit and i dont see anything about how many over bores this kit can go or if it can go to a 77mm piston. SO I DONT think this kit can go to 265cc on just a bore.. I also dont know if i like the Turbo Cut Combustion Chamber. I do like the 252cc on just the bore..

You cant compare apples and oranges!!! LOOK at the pics of the intake, this kit is a different looking port job, and not just a head mod, it also has a Turbo Cut Combustion Chamber. This is not just a standard Wiseco topend kit, this is a 75mm kit, and i know my 72mm piston and rings and gaskets are not cheap . They also bead blasting your cylinder and head.

It actually is a "standard" wiseco piston..... just not for a blaster. The pistons (and oversizes) are kawaski JS550 pistons. They start at 75mm and go up from there.

I've already asked partsdepot for all of the information they provide AND scoured the interwebs for as much information as possible about that setup. I even went so far as to ask Kevin Herr and HJR what he knew about them. They put together that old trinity 265 they had running for a long time (and the new owner blew up).

I don't know much about porting but I did see that it looked odd. Now that SCD says what it is, it makes sense. They've stuffed a non blaster sleeve into a Blaster cylinder. I can see the center section of the sleeve being good to support the rings. As far as the Turbo Cut combustion chamber, I don't know what's it suppose to do and if it does it or not. As far as blasting the head, is that a big deal? I wouldn't think it would take more than 5 minutes to do but the rough finish would make it impossible to keep clean.

Did they tell you the last bore size for there kit and if the cases need bored??? Can this kit go to 265cc on just a bore??? Is this kit the same piston and sleeve as the old school Trinity Racing 265cc kit? And you did not have to look hard to find out that the old Trinity Racing 265cc kit used a kawaski JS550 pistons and sleeve because i posted that info on here a long time ago.

Actually, I believe this is a special sleeve in a blaster cylinder. I can't find any sleeves that have a 75mm starting bore with that sort of port layout....

They did not elaborate on cases needing bored or whether that can go to 265cc on JUST the bore. Partsdepot wasn't that clear on their setup, only that it is a large overbore.

Actually, your post comes up on a google search. That's not exclusively where I got the info about the piston however, HJR racing also confirmed that but had no idea where trinity got their sleeves. :-/

This was the pistons for the Trinity Racing 265cc kit.>>>Product Search Engine For All Products - Wiseco Piston Inc.

I think this was the sleeve, it is a 1990 and older, and it was on CLOSEOUT..>> LA SLEEVE WATERCRAFT SLEEVE KAWASAKI JS-550 531cc 75mm | eBay

I dont know if this will work because it is a 1991 and newer..>>> SLEEVE KAWASAKI JS-550 | eBay

Here is a DYNO for the old Trinity Racing 265cc kit, it has about 36hp, and was $799.99

This company also make a 260cc big bore stroker kit.. Blaster YFS200 72mm 260cc Ported +4mm Hotrods Hot Rods Big Bore Stroker Kit | eBay I dont know how they can say it's 260cc, because a 72mm bore with a +4 stroke is only at 248cc, and if the last bore on this is 73mm then the biggest it can go is 255cc. So it looks like a 255cc big bore stroker kit to me..

Maybe this kit can go bigger then a 73mm piston???:-/

I also dont see anything in there ad about trenching your cases for the Hot rod +4 stroker crank!! Is there a new kind of +4 Hot rod crank that will fit with out having your cases trenched???

79 bronco, the old articles you post up are always cool to see! You must have kept every magazine you got.

I saw this on ebay and thought it was too good to be true for the price, which sounds like it is from trying to find more info on it.
