Big bore kit differences

I agree SUPERNOOBER!... Well most people think that when it comes to upgrades the bigger the better, is that true for carberatures? Let's say im running a stock cylinder thats maybe bored .20 and then I get a good port job done. What size would you recommend for a carb? Oh and also your running V3 reed's... Would a 35mm be too big for it, would it affect it's overall performance?

i would say a 35mm would do ya good and still leave some room to grow I:I

So if I put a 35mm on with the mentioned above work I could theoreticaly put on a bbk also and it would be fine?...but my main concern is I don't want to put too big if a carb on before I get my mods done ya know? What would happen if I ran a 35mm with a all stock setup except I have a powercore 2 silencer & stock pipe, is that too much air for it would I need to rejet? I'm sorta clueless about the whole carb set ups lol

I too am curious of the price to have a bbk resleeved as im on my second bored due to sucking water up into the engine apparently.

And i may be looking into swapping my cast vitos 72.5mm out for the forged unit all ken could get when he did mine over the summer was the cast vitos.I now allow it to fully warm up before riding and avoid water.

dude listen. send your cylinder and head to ken. have him port it and do a head mod and bore it only as much as he needs to clean up the damage and put a wiesco piston in it. then with whatever is left get yourself a right bend pipe and a 35mm carb and this will smoke a unported bbk with your current parts

By "Ken" I assume you mean "Ken oconner racing" right? And I actually just contacted FLOTEK performance yesterday with similar questions I asked in this thread... I would rather send my cylinder to whoever does better porting between the 2. The odd thing is that they told me it's $150 to get ported, but they didn't tell me or ask me what type of port job it was or the style I ride.this is my first tine going through this process so I don't know if it's unusual or not. Anyways! What you just said for me to run as my setup is exactly what I want after reading everybody's response in this thread. I have around $300 dollars to spend right now, so once I figure put an exact estimate of cost and I got my money together it will shipped out immediately, I gotta get it fixed before all the snow hits :) thanks for your advice/input

if your working with 300 and working in a timely manner i would go ahead and get the pipe first and run it like that. especially if you dont need to tear into the motor yet...

well my cylinder & head are already apart and off the quad, the reason i was considering the bbk upgrade is cause i need a new piston/rings and my cylinder is scratched too, so in other words that is my main priority. after i get her running again then i can focus on the right bend pipe, reeds, etc... when i get the bore, head cut, port, im also gonna make sure i have enough money for a new carb too! with alll thosre upgrades at once im sure im gonna need it

thats for sure man, once u get the cylinder ported u need to feed the beast lol. I:I

Alright guys, well now that I figured out the setup I want to run now I just have to figure where to send it... It seems to me everybody either goes to FLOTEK or KEN for the majority of their performance needs. I've heard great things about the 2 of them, so I'm not going to ask who is better then the other, but I will ask what they are best known for, or in other words do the majority of people seem to go to FLOTEK for porting over Ken or vice versa lol! I would like to take advantage of there great services so I need a little feedback from the community here. Give me your opinions!

You know that kind of question will just open up a can of worms. They are both great. You need to call and talk to both of them and make your choice based on what they tell you and of course price$$$$$

I thought that too! That's why I asked who is more popular for thier services instead, but ya I can see what you mean... Maybe I'll just flip a coin lol seeing as they are both really good I can't loose right?

I would not hesitate to use either one of those guys for port work. Give both of them a call and then make your decision. I have used Ken in the past and i will tell you I was 100% satisfied and would use him again. Then on the other hand Flotek is a proven awsome builder with proven results. Make that call and make your mind up by what you think after that phone call.
