im back at rebuilding my engine for my blaster... i need to replace one of the cases.... does anyone know where there is a parts list of what gaskets, bearings etc ill need to do the rebuild... ive asked before but never got a straight answer... i know i need a complete gasket set
Like this i assume :
COMPLETE ENGINE GASKET KIT + OIL SEALS YAMAHA BLASTER on eBay.ca (item 250481597261 end time 03-Apr-11 13:29:00 EDT)

If there is a better one please let me know as im going to start this order this week....

Also i know i need two crank bearings.. Like these i assume...

MOOSE RACING CRANK BEARINGS YAMAHA BLASTER 200 88-06 on eBay.ca (item 370489687919 end time 02-Apr-11 15:34:22 EDT)

Beside parts that maybe damaged... is there anything else i will need as far as bearings and gaskets go???

Spring time, so i can finally work in my shelter again in the next couple weeks... hoping i might actually get this blaster running this year...

Cheers

You'll be good on bearings and gaskets by replacing just what's metioned here, as long as none of the bearings in the transmission are damaged.

Personally, I don't use anything but Cometic or original Yamaha gaskets and seals. Other brands are known for leaking and blowing out. Moose Racing bearings will be fine for the crankshaft. Alls Balls Racing also makes good quality crank bearings if you need another option.

As long as your crankshaft is in good shape, new bearings, seals, and gaskets will be all you need to get the bottom end back together properly. IF you buy only one new case half, be sure to lap it so that it seals well against the opposite half.

I have two new case halfs... was suppose to get the crank bearings with them but they never came.... thats another story tho.... Looks like ill be ordering these shortly then....

Cheers

hot rods also makes good bearings, and use cometic gasket kit, its worth the money, or oem, i used vitos twice and leaked both times, i have the cometic now and hopefully it wont leak

Im pretty sure i can get my parts at dealer cost.. or very close to.... i have family at a Bombardier /kawasaki dealer and i service a yamaha dealer on my route that im in pretty good standing... so im going to check their prices compared to ebay before i make the purchase.. i just wanted to know exactly what im after...

Any idea how many hours it would take a skilled yamaha mechanic to teardown and rebuild a blaster engine??? im guessing 5-8 hours maybe???

Cheers
