umm just get new bearings... I:I there kits are slightly differant between the years the older ones have a extra seal i think.

should be around $25ish iirc. also before you put them in, leave the bearings in the bag, put them in the freezer over night. this makes them go into the carrier a lot easier.

oh and another little tip, while you have the only bearings out, you could add a grease fitting on the carrier. this way you can grease the bearings. it will help make them last longer.

i have a grease nipple on my 1990 stock carrier and the bearings are still like new.bought a stock carrier off of a buddy without a grease nipple and the bearings are garbage

You remove the inner seal from bearing if it has one so the grease can get to the brg. You drill the carrier before you put brgs in. If the carrier is full of grease it's pretty hard for water to get in. I:I

at the same time, drill the center tube as well so that grease onto the axle as well. like a boat hub bearing buddy, if you fill the carrier full of grease, sure it will lube the bearings, but more importantly it will keep all the water out if there is not place for the water to go.
