Avg price for rebuild

You also need a special tool to pull the new crank into the case halves but its pretty easy to make one with a piece of pipe and some big washers.
Oh yeah and be careful when you split the cases there is a little steel ball berring that will fall out make sure you dont loose it, it goes between the two clutch rods. but over all its not that difficult of a rebuild just get a clymars shop manual and take your time and follow the instructions step by step
there is also a link to the yamaha mechanics manual on here somewhere its in a pdf format but I think the instructions in the clymars are more detailed
Good luck

Well regal81455 offered to rebuild the bottom for me for 120 bucks with me supplying the parts. I don't think thats too bad so I might go with that.

Well after work I got the motor out and the top end off. I was looking through the clymers manual and I think Im gonna try this myself. I'll be asking questions but I think I can handle it.
Wish me luck!

Well I split the cases today went reeeaaalll easy. Didn't have to even get a screwdriver out. just tapped it once and they split. Then my day went to sh*t. When I was inspecting the cases I found this little gem,

So What are my options? Im leaning towards getting a new left side case. Thats why it was burning oil like crazy!!

Ok well when I put the cases back together I am going to put yamabond on them but do I put on alot or just skim coat them? I don't want them to leak. Also do I let it set up or just put it on each case and then put them together?
Thanks
