Can someone tell me what length shocks will work with these arms?
What is the stock length of blaster shocks?
Building a stock 2006 to a race quad as my son will be jumping up from minis next season so I better get started now.
Thanks

from what ive read on here u can actually get more travel out of the standard length than the long travel arms. if you do end up getting the lt i think yfz 450 shocks work pretty well

if you can get a good deal on the shocks then yeah go for the long travel arms but make sure u get the shocks setup for his weight and riding style if there not already...i just had that problem with the elkas i ordered after i got them setup for me totally different ride

yea go for long travel i have standard travel +3+1 with elkas and i bottom them out all the time

stephen u need to send yours back man i got my first ride in on mine today after the rebuild. i havent bottomed mine out yet and there actually just a tad soft even jumping to flat ground

I saw your quad on craigs list. I was gonna mesage you about possibility of a part out. I still need to know the length of shocks for the asr LT arms. If it is 16.5" then i will buy the elkas from this guy.
My son is 11 and 100lbs, these are already set for a 140lb rider. I feel this will be close as he goes big. Here is a vid of him hitting a big double on his black DRR mini quad. As you can see we will need good suspension.;)

what shocks are you running on there now?

well the yfz 450 shocks are 16.5 inches and thats what everyone recommends for the lt arms so those elkas should work.

thank you, that is what I was looking for.
Right now it is a new stock 2006 blaster. I bought it from a lady who got prego after she bought it and she couldnt ride anymore. i only paid 1200 and it was like showroom new. I figured I could then afford to build it and I knew it wasnt ragged out.

Some long travel a-arms are different then others. Some use 16.5'' shocks and others require 19'' long shocks.

I wrote the ASR guys and they said shocks that are required for their LT +3+1 arms are 16 1/4" from center to center of shock mount eyes. I am getting triple rate Works 250r shocks to couple with mine. right now with the TRX 250r rear shocks and my custom swingarm, I measured 12" of travel at the rear, and as soon as I get my fronts in I will measure the travel of that with the ASR's LT arms I will maybe purchase this week. I was looking at the different shock mounting points on the Burgard arms vs the ASR's and the burgards seem to be closer to a longer travel than the ASR's. Phragle told me that with this setup, it will be soft, but I will have a hard time bottoming it out with the TRX 250r shocks.

As the above post says...some require longer shocks...and this may be if you really want a true long travel suspension, but i could be wrong. Phragle needs to jump in here and put some knowledge in here...that guy knows his suspensions

It would be very helpful to know which would be the best for MX. I believe I read that the std travel blaster shocks are 14.5" and I am hearing that the LT's will take a 16.25"
I bet it is safe to say a 16.5" would work.
Will he get a better landing/handling blaster with the LT vs the std??
I appreciate all the replies so far.

I've run both sets (std travel & lt) and I love the way the lt works when landing off of jumps and cornering. I just added a set of 21'' custom axis shocks and can't wait to see how they perform
