Anyone heard of carburetor porting?

i went to this shop and the guy told me he can do carburetor porting, anyone heard of this?
If so, is it any good???????????

i think u mean boring, and there are shops that do it, but imo, u should just get a bigger carb instead for a bit more money

Carbs can be taper bored.

Along with boring, a carb can be "ported" to a certain degree. It involves smoothing things here and there, improving it's flow characteristics, prob not a DIY project tho. Duncan Racing does what they call a super flow mod. I believe that is what that guy was talking about, dubai.

Just my opinion, but for some applications, a high flowing smaller carb might be superior to just buying a larger carb. i.e. better low-end response with higher top-end flow than a comparable non-modded carb.
