It evaporates an leaves no residue! I use it at work alot, for cleaning/disinfecting plastic pipe/valves.
BTW-nice lapping job!
LOL i didnt mean anything disrespectful but for lack of better description its basically what i said a ghetto magnafluxing is it not?
To be honest if i had the funds to buy the cool head now i would and not even dick with the stock one.But i dont so i went ahead and made this the best i can to my abilities and its turned out descent for never trying that method before.
Yea i hope its good to go from here out to bro thanks for the tips and advice and i never said i wouldnt use it or didnt appreciate it i was just confused initially as to what you meant.
I know you weren't be disrespectful, it is what it is, even my tones probably came across a bit douchey now that I've read back...definitely not the case.
Not really ghetto magnafluxing though. By ghetto, I'm assuming you mean inexpensive and half-assed...something my brother would do. This doesn't even have to do with checking the block or head while it is apart, just after it is run, under compression and heat...if there is any fluid oozing out a gasket, if it hasn't collected dust to be visible, it will collect and goop the baby powder. We used to use this method in very low psi (0-5psi) hydro systems on bulk heads and fittings in negative atmospheric chambers, to make sure we weren't leaking in sensitive systems tests. Soaping water solution doesn't work well with hydro systems, only pneumatic...go figure. Anyhow, instead of tearing everything back apart, we would basically powder like a forensic scientist and look for clumping. Saved lots of time and $$$. You would be surprised at how minute (my-noot) of a trace in a sealing surface and a poor compression gasket can lead to a leak, even at the lightest pressure. Besides, $1 at Dollar General for a bottle of powder, that's a pretty cheap check...plus leaves your machine smelling girly nice. I:I
Make sure to do your heat cycles too, that will get everything to seat properly...then of course, torque check all your nuts and bolts. After that, if it isn't leaking, along with the Permatex Copper Gasket Sealant, you should be solid...ride it like you stole it with no intentions of getting caught. I:I
Never take it off while the motor is hot- that warps them.
