well my blaster blew out a base head gasket racing some 4pokers last week end, i replaced the gasket today and went ridin for couple hours and the noise got worse and worse but it still ran awesome pulled hard and did well in the power band. i kno its not the main bearing or rod bearings..

and its my ported 240 in my sig.

I swear that is getting common on blasters.lol My bud had his rebuilt last year and it has been making that noise ever since and has not had a problem(about a year now). One thing to check and it has happened to me is the main gear nut on the end of the crankshaft comes loose and makes it's way through the oil pump cover. When it was on it's way out it sounded real similiar.Only other thing that comes to mind is piston slap.Keep us posted If you figure it out cause i'm curious also.

Let them check it out and see if it is tapered if it is then probably a bore job to get it straight again and then a hone.It cost a few bucks more but I always have them rough bore it to know how much had to come off that way I don't get the wrong piston size.

That is what I like to refer to as the "stock knock" because it seems like they all do that. Some are louder than others but they all seem to do it. I noticed it on mine a while back and got a bit worried, just look up blaster walk around on youtube and you'll see that they all do it to some extent. Hope that puts you at ease. by the way if you should happen to find some way to get rid of it PM me and let me know. While I'm not worried about it, it does get annoying.

yea most blasters have that noise, but this is kinda bad sounding when i am riding it around. i am going to pull the motor some time this week and pull the covers and the top end see if i can see any thing wrong with her. i am thinking piston slap like freek said.

hmm what would be the best way to go about gettin her fixed, would new rings or piston help or do i have to have it bored out.

u might be able to check by taking the head off, if u have alot of piston cylinder clearence on the top, its probably gonna be worse on the bottom, and thats what u r hearing, my sons blasty sounded the same way before the skirt shattered and now its split cases time for me again, but yea if its alot of clearnce, u have to have it bored to the next size:(

ruthless_one3k nah there is no way this is normal it sounds so bad, and when it idles it idle rough to where you put your hand on the head you can feel some thing is out of wack and the noise gets worse as you rev it up..

ok ill give that a try, thats not good i dont want the piston to fall apart on me haha looks like i better stop riding it . ill mic the cylider make sure its not out of round. when your piston went in your kids blaster it locked up right when it happends or did it run then die?.

dirtyblaster yea that is a little odd lol..

ruthless_one3k yea my old blaster sounded like that but i dont think it was as loud mine was kinda low but it was there.

i sounded just like yours does now, and then it just died and would not start again, so we towed it home, then when we brought it to batts garage i tried pop starting it going down a hill and thats when i relized the piston was done and sure enough tore it down and what a mangled mess
the only reason i know it was piston slap was because i threw the motor together and used a old piston that had waaay to much piston cylinder clearence, but the wife insisted he be able to ride it christmas day, well now its gonna cost about 450 to 500 to get that rollin again, oh boy:(

a nother thing to check ron is the motor mount bolts, it sounds to easy but mine did the same thing, knocked and vibrated, come to find out the front mount bolt was loose...

ouch that sux, why is it going to cost so much?.you going to drop a stroker in there for him lol.

i guess ill find out if i did some real damage when i pull the top end back off, the piston still looked great when i put the new gasket on the cylli had some ware but i figured i could get couple more tanks out of it before i rebuilt her.

blasterman87 ill find out cause i gotta pull the motor out to work on it.

ill snag some pics when i get the motor out and apart

thats what mine sounded like in january right before i had to rebuild the top end because my piston was slaping the bearing went bad and made the piston tilt and slap

What is a rough bore I've never heard of this before?

A rough bore is when they will bore enough material down to make it usuable or round again. For instance I had a cylinder that went and the ring got pinched bad inbetween the piston and cylinder. So I had them rough bore it to get the damage out.Ended up needing to go .40 bigger. If I was to guess by seeing it I would have guessed .20 over. Then I got the piston and gave it to them to finish bore and hone.Cost a few more but it's better than buying an extra piston that you can't use.IMO
