ok i took the blaster out today for the first time today and when your at high rpms and about to shift it slips alittle. but i think it might be the oil i put in it. its Castrol 4 stroke motorcycle oil. SAE10W-40. so i think im going to get some gooood wet clutch crank oil at a local bike shop. or the stuff everyone has said to get. i hope i didnt mess anything up or the cluthes dont have to be replaced.(and id so how hard is that).
Thanks

u should get that 4 stroke oil outta there, the blaster needs gear oil for wet clutches, try some bel-ray 80w gear saver, thats some good sh*t!

naa it just puts alittle more wear on the clutch parts, ive had to use auto trans fluid ( which is bad) just to get me by sometimes, and after a flush or too its good to go, but the slippage u said could also be the clutch getting worn out, try new oil and see what happens.

if all else fails get a set of barnet dirt diggers you wont regret it

how much is that? and howhard are these clutches to replace? ive heard of using full syntehic 10w30 is the way to go but car oil is bad for wet clutches right? i just hear like ten thinks what i can put in there and i dont want to mess it up before i even make one payment on it so im going to go with that bel-ray and hope for the best. and il let you guys know.

and it didnt start happening til i changed the oil last night and put this stuff in it.

p.s. another thing. one of my buddies said the cluthes will prob only take about 30-35mins to replace. does that sound about right?

Thanks

If you are fast, yeah, but if you are leisurely putting them in, plan on 1 hr. Gotta remove footpeg, drain oil, remove side cover (careful with gasket unless you have a new one), remove 5 bolts with springs holding on pressure plate, remove old clutch discs, put back in in reverse of taking it apart. Make sure to soak clutch discs in your gear oil before installing them so they are dry when you start up and use, or it could toast your clutch.

It also depends how easy your bolts and stuff come out.

alright kool is there anything i have to line up or anything? ive never had to replace them and im wondering if maybe i should just pay a place to do them instead of having a freind do them then it messes up. thanks again for the input. i hope i can just put better oil in it and call it a day. well see though

ok changed the oil today with some high performance slip resisitance tranny fluid for wet clutches and no more slipping. the oil i drained was def not good looking. it looked like it seperated from what was left over in the case(the grey lookng gear lube) so im def staying away from that sh*t. i tried to get bel-ray but the atv shop didnt carry it anymore. and i did the shorty brake cable last night in like 15 mins and now im ready for the trails and hills this sunday!!!
Thanks guys!I:I
