Called carb parts warehouse today to get an idea of where I need to be as far as jets go with the 35mm airstriker carb.

52-58 $5ea pilot
165-170 $5ea main
cgl needle $10
6.0 slide $70

Guy sounded like he knew his stuff, but was not expecting to have to buy a new slide. He said the slide I have is to rich and said it will not run right. For sh*ts and giggles, I pulled apart the used carb to see what jets were in there already (was used in a previous blaster application). Sure enough, found a 57 pilot, 170 main. Just wish he wasn't right about the slide Have any of you heard this about the slide before?

you can get jets way cheaper at rockmountain atv.com...i think they were only like 2 or 3 bucks a piece on there...you could probly find everything you need on there cheaper...

those aren't real keihin jets though. the loose tolerances on the cheap jets isn't worth risking your motor over

i have heard of changing the slide before and someone else told me about having to change the needle for a 34mm pj to run right, been wantin to call cpwarehouse myself

i never changed my slide before.. i would try the one you got before dropping 70 bones on a new one you may not need..

I was kind of feeling the same way. exp since i'll have to wait and see about the jetting anyway. aparently im in the ball park already so no sense in ordering those either right now I guess.

Just changed my needle to the one vito's say's they put on all 34pj. Much easier to tune and sounds alot better at 1/2 throttle. So thanks to Kennedy for catching it and Vito's for having the needle :}

Mine has a 6.0 slide too, and works good with my mods, plug looks good when running it wide open. the 170 main should be close to perfect, maybe a little rich for you. 170 is about spot on for me. Pilot i anticipate running a 45-47, right now its a little rich and its a 48 i believe. I put a 165 main in and my plug was bone dry and white, engine got hot as hell too.
