When performing a leakdown test and air escapes out of the crankcase breather tube does this mean the right side crankcase seal needs to be replaced? thanks in advance

^^Right^^ Pull the clutch cover off and check the seal for leaks with soapy water. If its just the seal leaking, replace it (check the collar while you're at it) and you should be good to go. Leaky case halves will have to be re-sealed by pulling the bottom end apart. It is MORE LIKELY that you've just got a bad seal. Gonna have to investigate a little more.

I got the side cover off and sprayed at the seal and no bubbles. I also sprayed at the case seam all the way around and no bubles. I can hear air escaping by the clutch though. any thoughts?

Yes, it would leak out of the breather tube if it's leaking between the cases behind the balancer shaft.

That's a real shame. It would cost you about $50 and take about two days out in the garage to fix the problem. A top end gasket set, a new set of rings, and some Yamabond.

I was thinking about it and decided to just do it. But later in the spring.Im just a little overwelmed right now as there is a certain car I have thats needs some finishing touches before the shows come up.and maybe a built 10 bolt rear with a disk setup. Ok now im getting off topic.lol

blasters are WAY cheaper than the car stuff that's for sure! the stuff is easier to get in on the kitchen table too lol

X-2 on the kitchen table :D. Plus your Blaster looks to nice to part out. I would suggest lapping the cases to ensure a nice surface for sealing. I:I JMHO, your results may vary.

+1 check the right side seal.

everytime you replace the right side seal replace the collar/bushing while you are at it.
Once the new seal in in place re-test it for any other air leaks.

Use threebond 1194 on both halves of the engine cases then put them together to seal them up
